Matthew 17:20
“He replied, ‘Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.’”
In this verse, Jesus is speaking to his disciples after they were unable to heal a boy possessed by a demon (whom Jesus heals). He tells them that the reason for their failure was a lack of faith, and emphasizes that even a small amount of faith (symbolized by a mustard seed) can enable them to do great things, such as moving mountains. This illustrates the power of genuine faith in God’s ability to work miracles.
